Summer night with Great wines for good friends

A good fun summer night with friends… where some “best of” wines were pulled one by one out of the cellar like Prüm, Coche, Pégau, Nit, Deus and Mouton 1985… great wines for good friends!!

2014 Joh. Jos. Prüm Riesling Kabinett
Huge minerality, nice citrus, very sappy… the taste is fitting perfectly with the lobster and Yuzu butter!! (90 points)

2011 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Blanc
Very nice tension, I can’t believe this this is a simple white Burgundy, it is so concentrated that it even pairs well with a dish of Tomatoes and Chardonnay vinegar… Everybody just loved it!! (92 points)

2004 Isole e Olena Cepparello Toscana IGT
Still painfully young, but openen after 2 hours aeration, nice licorice nose, nice iodine, red berries… nice drying tannins, good acidity and Italian kick… very traditional style! (92 points)

2003 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée
Great typical nose of oriental spices, farmyard, ripe red raspberries… surprizingly concentrated, (3rd bottling), loads of depot on the bottle… the taste is still showing potential ahead!! (95 points)

2010 Familia Nin-Ortiz Priorat Nit de Nin
Wow, lots of iodine, ripe black fruit, even some minerality… taste is very profound, fresh and mineral with a 45 seconds finish. The minerality is the signature of this terroir, one of my preferred Priorat!! (96 points)

2004 Clos Saint Jean Châteauneuf-du-Pape Deus-Ex Machina
Very black nose of licorice, very ripe black fruit… super concentrated, lenght of 30 seconds, great as usual!! (94 points)

1985 Château Mouton Rothschild
Great showing for the Mouton 1985!! the nose is to die for, tobacco, leather, cedar wood, black ripe fruit… taste seamingless, perfect maturity, even if there was 30 min before the previous bottle, it is amazing that this Bordeaux showed so well after a great Chateauneuf!! (97 points)
